Operation Downfall

Operation Downfall

“Operation Downfall”
by Daniel McNeet

RELEASE DATE: OCTOBER 24, 2011
A courageous and cathartic narrative, OPERATION DOWNFALL, mirrors the political landscape that has become both acceptable and repulsive to a country that prides itself on freedom and democracy. Novelist Daniel McNeet has written a taunting-political thriller which serves as a literary fable for a country in search of its self-identity and moral sense. Stunning, vibrant and veracious attorney, Mariah O’Leary, is going to do what most people only dream about — expose the amoral corruptions and their political machinery deep within the White House. She uncovers their unprincipled scheme to create a series of events which will justify the launching of an illegal war. A complex web of relationships between the president, vice president and their investors place the American people in heightened jeopardy. Mariah’s investigation uncovers a “War Plan” which poisons thousands of American citizens and blames a Middle East country for the terrorist attack.
Mariah O’Leary organizes “Operation Downfall” which consists of teams of former Central Intelligence Agency agents and field officers, Special Forces and other clandestine operatives to expose the conspiracy, corruption and treachery by the president, vice president and a billionaire defense contractor.
The president needs a war to get re-elected and increase his wealth, the vice president needs a war to increase his wealth, create fear among the American people so he can establish an unitary presidency — a shift to toward fascism. The billionaire needs a war to become the richest man in the world and save his failing companies. The results of the operation reap retribution, political suicide, deaths and infamy.
The settings are Bel Air and Los Angeles, California; Houston, Texas; Washington, D.C. and Georgetown.

McNeet literally made my mind explode with this novel! Everything I have always heard from war vets and assumed was due to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder made me question my political stand point.  This novel introduces a modern day Robin Hood (Robin is a female in this case) Mariah O'Leary, a dedicated lawyer starts out with a simple missing persons case and uncovers a micromanaging government behind the scenes.  Countless bribes, blackmail, swept murders and a "war plan" spiral out of control when a confidential secretary finds out her true identity.  An oil tycoon and his president ---of the U.S. that is soon part as illegal documents are found showcasing a plan to conspire the deaths of millions of American citizens.  O'Leary goes beyond her law duties and exposes those involved while maintaining her dedication to her people.  So, the next time you hear another "war crazy" stop and listen because you never know that the stories you hear might not be so far fetched from the truth.  Thank you, Mr. McNeet for saying, thinking, and writing our darkest political fears.  I pray that our society as a whole would never allow such a need for greed and power.  Then again, I know might is the root of all evil and I am sure this has, will and is happening as we speak.

Raving about Roaring Spring

Roaring Spring Elephant PooPoo PaperUp to a week ago I had heard of the new types of paper being produced that were recycled but had yet to use them. I was pleasantly surprised with the office supplies being offered by Roaring Spring and had the opportunity to test drive them. The various writing pads offered such as the landscape format and quad ruled and the sugarcane notebook were a nice addition to a college students wish list. The paper notebooks were wire bound and durable in one and three subject styles.  The quality was evident in the easy to tear pages, plastic cover and heavy duty cardboard backing.  Honestly, I could not even tell that it was recycled paper there was no off coloring or uneven spots.  Being a color coding queen lol i love that the notebooks come in vibrant colors with convenient dual sided folders attached right inside the cover.  Last but not least I was amazed that this paper was actually made of 30% of paper waste! The poo poo paper was def my fave because I think elephants are adorable anyways. Who would've thought to reuse their organic waste as well! I gotta tell ya that some of the girls at the office were a little grossed out by the thought of the poo poo paper but after i let them read the description they weren't as skeptical lol. What great products for household, office, and school save time and notebooks purchase online!
